Distance is not perceived as in the past, thanks to cheap air tickets and technologies such as Skype or fast communication network. This does not mean it doesn’t exist and it is still difficult to accept living away from the place where you feel “home”. Considering this length, between Tallinn and Cavalese, my hometown, vertical instead of horizontal as we normally do, we would have to climb 278 mountains to cover it.
Impossible but however, it makes tangible a a nostalgic feeling that, rationally, would be impossible to measure. The project works with the archive method, to think about how technical and scientific discoveries make us perceive everything, from the distance to the effort, differently.
